Sliding automatic doors: an ecological and safe choice for the buildings of the future
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important aspect in all areas of life, and the construction industry is no exception.
According to current data, the building sector is responsible for 6% of global CO2 emissions. One of the key factors influencing CO2 emissions by buildings is the energy consumption for heating and cooling. This problem is particularly visible in the case of entrance doors, through which heat or cold air “escapes”, which leads to increased energy consumption. Buildings with installed automatic doors are more energy efficient.
At esco Polska we understand this perfectly, which is why our escomatic series drives designed to automate sliding doors offer a number of benefits in the context of an ecological approach, sustainable development and energy savings.
Energy-saving technologies: modern escomatic drives use brushless motors, advanced control units and efficient switching power supplies, which allows for reduced energy consumption both during operation and in idle mode. For example, the average energy consumption of the evo BSL drive is 0.26 kWh per day / 95.81 kWh per year (for automatic doors with an opening of 2400 mm, a leaf weight of 2 x 70 kg and a working frequency of 1500 cycles per day).
Advanced functions: the control units in our drives have implemented special functions, such as reduced, dynamic winter opening, which allows for a reduction in the door opening width during low temperatures, but after the drive sensors detect increased pedestrian traffic, the device automatically increases the door opening range.
Modern sensors: escomatic drives are equipped with advanced activation sensors that prevent the door from opening when lateral movement is detected. The doors are opened only when the user actually intends to use them, which directly reduces energy losses caused by unnecessary door operation and mixing of air inside the building with outside air.
Speed of operation: automatic sliding doors open and close in a much shorter time than swing doors, which affects the time during which energy losses related to heating or cooling occur, and also ensure a faster and smoother flow of people, which is especially important in places with high traffic, such as train stations, airports or shopping centers.
Device control: escomatic drives allow you to control external devices, such as an air curtain, which, when activated after the door is activated, creates an air barrier in the doorway separating two air zones with different temperatures (internal and external), preventing them from interpenetration when the door is opened. It prevents the air inside the building from mixing with external air and reduces its dispersion.
Device recycling: if the device needs to be disposed of due to the end of its life cycle, it can be easily recycled, because it is mostly made of aluminum and steel elements, which means that we can have an even greater impact on reducing the carbon footprint and protecting our common natural environment.
Automatic sliding doors offer a number of benefits in the context of sustainable development, energy savings, people’s throughput and their safety. They are an ideal solution for buildings of the future, in which sustainable development plays a key role.
